Jack Rose aka JCK is an 18-year-old singer songwriter and TV presenter from Ashford, Kent in the UK. Jack has toured with the legendary Faith Evans on her UK tour, supported Tinchy Stryder, Shane Lynch (Boyzone), Dane Bowers (Another Level), Abz Love (Five) Ben Ofoedu (Phats And Small), Rozalla, Natasha Hamilton (Atomic Kitten) and Beverley Knight and regularly performs all over the UK.
Rose listens to a lot of trap artists, such as 24kGoldn and Internet Money, and it is clear where he derives his musical influence. The track was heavily inspired by American rap and living like a rockstar; the track definitely captures the current sound that is dominating the charts at the moment and encapsulates ‘living your best life.’
The track is accompanied by a light-hearted video that depicts the budding relationship between two young adults, it is an accurate portrayal of how modern day relationships develop through social media. It is sweet and romantic but simultaneously raw in its stripped back production.
Jack Rose was influenced in his early days by rappers such as Eminem, and it inspired him to start creating music. But as he has progressed in his career he has realised that he finds a closer and more natural affinity with current rap/trap artists such as Post Malone. It is clear when you listen to the track who Rose has been sonically influenced by, and his recent releases have been successful due to his authenticity and his passion for the music he makes.
Whilst the pandemic has greatly affected him this year, Rose is excited by the prospect of live gigs in the future as he engages a lot with his fans over social media and thrives off performing. Over his professional timeline he has played more than 250 shows and has built up a truly loyal fan base of more than 200,000 fans. He has even been hailed as the young Justin Timberlake with his proven singer-songwriter prowess, his acting skills and handsome appeal – it’s unsurprising that he has such a pure likability factor.
Jack’s single “Not the One” peaked at No 2 in the Netherlands and No 5 in Belgium; his single “Freak Ya”, which was released on September 27th last year, peaked at No11 in the iTunes Top 200 Pop Charts. The latter track features former X Factor contestant Kezia Povey and is a risqué urban-infused jam that’s received considerable radio play traction.
Jack is also the host of Amazon TV series Ghost Hunting with Jack Rose where he explores haunted sites across the UK with host of celebrity guests. Former guests have included: Love Island’s Georgia Harrison; award-winning actress Tina Malone; Big Brother’s Jeremy McConnell; Simon Britton; Paul Danan and stars from TV’s Gogglebox, to name but a few.
Jack began his career posting covers of popular songs online and, by the age of 13, had already amassed more than 1.2 million views. In 2017, he featured on a charity single with stars from the TV show Gogglebox, which reached No6 in the iTunes Chart.
Jack’s single “Let This Be” was released on the 20th of December and was included in Spotify’s New Music Friday and also peaked at No20 in the iTunes Top 200 Pop Chart.
