Fashion Icon Jade Moss uses Neo-Vintage Style in New Single ‘Hey Babe’

After creating a name for herself in the word of fashion and design with her unique, vintage and vibrant style, Jade Moss has taken inspiration from her expertise and mixed it into her music.

With glamorous and retro tones mixed together, ‘Hey Babe’ fuses elements from classic jazz and pop to create a wistful and romantic sound that shows her fearless and defining attitude.

A bold and iconic entrepreneur in the the fashion industry, Jade unveiled her creativity in designing clothes after moving to the heart of London from her home in Yorkshire at the young age of 18.

Opening up her own boutiques and travelling the world in the process, she’s picked up inspiration at every destination, which has helped her designs find success in both high street fashion stores and online retailers.

Her own individual and imaginative style she has created has shown in her music as well. With a powerful and soulful voice, she has put together a song with charm and mystique, singing about true love in the cold world we live in.

It’s catchy and groovy with an old school elegance to it; having been described as an artistic combination of 80’s and 40’s music, ‘Hey Babe’ is a sentimental track that’ll have you singing along.

“The music that I write is about my experiences with love, joy, strength and the importance of self-worth”.

Listen to ‘Hey Babe’ here:

Inspired by artists such as Etta James, Grace Jones and Lauren Hill, Jade has created a neo-vintage pop song filled with emotion and passion.

With the help of Milan-based musician Etto who composed the song and Vito de Luca from Aeroplane who did the arranging and mixing, ‘Hey Babe’ is one that will be featured on Jade’s upcoming EP ‘Only you’, set to be released on GlaGlaRecords in April this year.

Nonviolenze’s Philosophical Album ‘Ghosts Of War’ Celebrates Unification In An Audio-Visual Experience.

Texas-based prog musician Nonviolenze is set to release his upcoming debut album ‘Ghosts Of War’ 16thOctober.

Emigrating to Houston, Texas from his home country India, singer, songwriter and guitarist Shri Baratan (known under the pseudonym as Nonviolenze) creates an ambiguous soundscape of heavenly instrumentation. Concocting a luscious blend of polymath, cool jazz, pop, rock and blues tied with dynamic poetry and psychedelic paintings to accompany the music, the artistic brilliance radiated from Nonviolenze shines infectiously bright.

Exploring a whole three-octave range, the vocal textures utilised throughout his music conjure an enchanting fleet of amazement. Accompanied by a unique guitar-playing style, Nonviolenze’s music is a dreamy blend of harmonious melodies.

If his sound didn’t set him apart from others alone, Nonviolenze paints his own illustrations in order to create an audio-visual experience for the listener. With the topic of his album questioning how scriptures of all faiths often lead to division, hate and war, as well as questioning the topics of poverty, politics, human rights and equality, the illustrations play a huge role in really manifesting Nonviolenze’s philosophical messages.

On one part so daringly unique, the contemporary sounds and profound lyrics on the album highlights a clear message: diversification should be celebrated and unite us together, instead of dividing us apart.

Where is Rina Sawayama’s Mercury Prize Nomination?

As reported by Vice, Rina Sawayama was deemed ineligible to enter for a Mercury Prize this year despite having lived in the UK since she was a toddler.

Currently signed to UK label, Dirty Hit, Sawayama boasts a seven-year contribution to the British music scene. In spite of this alongside her Indefinite Leave to Remain status (ILR), which allows the artist to be tax registered to the UK, she was heartbroken upon discovering the unjust barrier between herself and one of her ultimate ambitions.

In her exclusive Vice interview, Sawayama stated: “I’ve just lived here all my life. I went to summer school in Japan, and that’s literally it. But I feel like I’ve contributed to the UK in a way that I think is worthy of being celebrated, or at least being eligible to be celebrated.” Facts.

Original Article: https://www.vice.com/en_uk/article/g5p8gj/mercury-prize-brits-rina-sawayama

This rejection has lead the 29-year-old to call into question her own Britishness and ergo her holistic identity as a Japanese-British artist.

In an industry that supposedly honours diversity, it’s unacceptable that an artist with a contribution of this scale should be overlooked on the basis of not holding a British or Irish passport. And it’s not just Mercury, the BRITs have similar barriers to entry.

We stand by Rina Sawayama in her appeal against this gross inequity. You can stream the singer’s ambitious and futuristic self-titled electro-pop record at the link below.

Adam Lanceley: From the Edge of Life to the Gift of Kindness Saving Him

Intended to be his final album, last year’s album ‘The Rainbow’s Legacy’ was Adam Lanceley’s goodbye to music, his salvation through many years’ struggle through physical and mental health issues. Suffering with anxiety, depression and PTSD, he has found the aftermath incredibly difficult but his life has been turned around by the kindness of a friend, kindness which he has tried to repay with a brand-new collection of songs which he has entitled Deliverance.

Lanceley said, “The first song on the album probably means the most to me. Everything happened so quickly at the end of last summer and I wrote it in desperation at the thought of losing her. I read it to her but when I thought I’d never be able to record it and give it to her, I couldn’t face doing it. It was in the winter when I realised I would be able to, that I recorded it. I recorded three more tunes that I’d written about how she’d come into my life after this”

Deliverance, a 6 track album will be releasing on June 8th.
