Speaking on his new EP, ‘Nehruvia: The Nehruvian’, young MC Bishop Nehru says: “Peace Nehruvians… enjoy some free music. It’s crazy to me that I’m a completely different person right now than displayed in these songs but I never want you missing a moment of a way that I feel. Try to understand… Try to connect… & Most of all, enjoy.” Emperor Nehru has also released a video for ‘Users‘ from the EP, which is set in Japan. With a live BBC Manchester session and a feature in national Acoustic Magazine already under his belt, Dave Fidler’s previous single ‘Taking Over’ has really started to make waves for the singer-songwriter. Easy Gone, Easy Come, is the title track from the new EP which is set to retain Dave’s upward trajectory come June 1st.
Based in the North West, Dave Fidler is a supremely talented acoustic guitarist, whose folk style and intricate finger picking underneath a distinct vocal has the ability to warm and break your heart in equal measure. His songs spin tales we can all relate to, around themes of love, loss and birth – all themes shaped by Fidler’s own personal life over the last year or so.
Influenced by greats like Bob Dylan and Paul Simon, this is an artist with incredible potential with songs like EP track ‘Easy Gone, Easy Come’, which you can find here:
Produced by Sam Jones (Alex Turner, Corinne Bailey Rae) and John Bramwell of I Am Kloot, the EP is just the latest step in what is shaping up to be a very promising music career.
The past twelve months for Dave have been a whirlwind of recording sessions and great shows including Glastonbury Festival, Manchester’s Whisky Sessions festival and a forty date tour of the UK as main tour support to John Bramwell who describes Fidler as “absolutely brilliant”. He has also been featured several times by key tastemaker Tom Robinson of BBC Radio 6 Music.
Coming Soon on limited edition 10” vinyl only, The Death Disco EP represents the first of 3 x 10” vinyl only Chapters comprising the debut album to be released by The Windmills Project – a rock opera influenced but not contained by the classics of the genre (Tommy, Quadrophenia) and Nic Roeg’s celluloid masterpiece “The Man Who Fell To Earth.”
There is no Bowie or Sting, no Elton, but a young sorceress lands on Earth nonetheless to document a small world obsessed with, and about to be consumed by, sex, propaganda, powerlust, religious war & social carnage. Is she an archangel of redemption or the darkangel sent to cast the planet down in misery? There’s the rub.
Brand New Deep Web KolleKtiv, The Windmills Project shake a Molotov of art, film, realpolitik, cyber-skullduggery and dark beats. Comprising the sorceress and various digitally linked creative cells from Wessex, Leicester, Nottingham, Rotherham, Cumbria, Cambridge and London, The Windmills Project will release the “Death Disco” and the subsequent Chapters of the opera on 10″ vinyl only on their own Station K Records label. Remixes have already been completed by Superstylers, Gordon John and North2South for the Death Disco. The Evolution will not be televised, but the remixes and the vinyl are ready to roll.
A trio from Richmond, Virginia in the US, Cosby are a band on the rise. With their very own brand of upbeat synth pop with 1980s flavours, they combine anthemic melodies, smooth harmonies, driving guitar hooks, ethereal synth layers and dance beats to great effect on new EP ‘Summer Gold’.
Influenced by the likes of Tears for Fears, Aha, Duran Duran, Pet Shop Boys but giving their own music a contemporary production sheen, the band were formed when brothers Chris and Chip Cosby joined forces after years of playing separately, the results were golden from the very start. Soon, Mike Levinson entered the fray as drummer and percussionist, and the band haven’t looked back since.
‘Summer Gold’ is the latest fruit of their labours, the quality of which is typified by the pace, energy and huge chorus of pulsating single ‘Heartracer’ – and it also helps that that the arcade game influenced video is a real treat:
Pulsating single ‘Heartracer’ to accompany May 11th EP release
Mixed and mastered by producer Andreas Magnusson, ‘Heartracer’ and the ‘Summer Gold’ EP is a follow up to previous album ‘In Flight’. With that album starting to open doors, 2015 will be Cosby’s year to smash through them on both sides of the Atlantic.
