Richard Rhys O’Brien continues to make thought provoking and heart warming music with his latest single “Sense in Our Brains” recently released to much anticipation. Deep, thoughtful music still exists and O’Brien is proving over and over again he is a master of it.
From global economist and futurist to a singer and songwriter producing some of the most memorable songs of recent memory. Enter Richard Rhys O’Brien, an artist who has yet to fail to inspire thought and emotion with his music, a kind of pop divorced from time and space. O’Brien recently released his new single “Sense in Our Brains”, clearly in the same vein as some of his earlier work like “Cloud on the Horizon” and “It’s a Dangerous World”, but with an impact and impression all of its own.
“We’re very happy about ‘Sense in our Brains’ and how it serves as an introduction to our coming album later this year,” commented the talented songwriter. “The message is clear – can we keep civilization on track? And beyond that, is anyone listening at all?”
In addition to his trademark vocals, O’Brien’s colleagues show their immense talent on the new single as well. Bruce Knapp’s guitar complements O’Brien’s keyboards expertly, Callie Howard’s ethereal backing vocals never fail to deliver and the steady rhythm of Tony Shepherd’s drums and Richard Sadler’s bass continues to be the foundation of O’Brien’s musical expression.
With his previous albums “I Know a Little Place” and “Anguneau Sunset” being warmly embraced by both fans and critics, “Sense in Our Brains” points toward this momentum continuing well into the future, an area Richard Rhys O’Brien has proven himself quite an expert in.
Singer songwriter Richard Rhys O’Brien has released his second album ‘Anguneau Sunset’ which is available online for all music lovers everywhere. After a successful debut album last year, the new album packs a punch with its entertaining themes of love, life, liberty and contemporary issues.
Out of the blue Richard Rhys O’Brien started songwriting back in 2009, after a career as a global economist and futurist where he also had the privilege of visiting more than 80 countries during this career, but in five years he has released two albums and now working on the third and fourth, his raw talent has quickly progressed into his confident and clean music we hear today. The ‘future folk’ artist’s background as an economist has taught him many things about how the world revolves, inspiring him to write his songs of love and life. Richard’s signature musical style is drawn from legends such as Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits.
One of his popular tracks from the album is ‘Listenin to you Whistlin’ that reflects the mystery and compulsion of love. This new single has a great relaxing, chilled out tones combined with slight funk vibes; Richard has given us something different in this new song, compared to his last album that was more upbeat.
Talented professionals joined Richard in the new single; guitarist, Bruce Knapp, bassist, Richard Sadler and drummer, Tony Shepherd and shining vocals of Callie Howard all help create the spectacularly unique sound.
A lovely acoustic country style song with a real message behind it. Taken from his album ‘I Know A Little Place’, ‘Take It As It Comes’ is a fantastic introduction into what Richard is all about. Very catchy – you will definitely be tapping your toes to this one! Great tune.
